So no need for the signalink USB, or rigblaster, etc. From there it will use software to key up the radio just like it would for as an echolink terminal. There is a setting for use serial connection for PTT or something like that, and a couple other subsettings to click on. Once I read Les's guide, and email or two to verify some things, I got the settings fixed. That allows the radio to key up via software thru the serial 5G cable. Te way it works, you have to turn the radio on in sysop mode, like you were to use it for echolink. I used a USB to serial adapter, that worked for programming of the radio. The 5G cable, it can go from the faceplate to the computer when using the D710(it has the TNC), but in this case for things to work, it must go from the radio body to the computer(V71A has both of these jacks on the back of the radio body as well). First thing, the 5H cable, it goes from the radio body to the sound card. With the help of Les, and a guide he put together for basically this very thing, I got it all working. ![]()
